Security and Access Management Changes

We’re excited to announce major improvements to Weather Server’s security, privacy, and access management.

What’s Changing?

User Management & Access Control

  • Before: multiple users were required to share credentials (account id and password) to access an account.

  • Moving forward: an account will be called an "Organization". Each Organization can have multiple Users added by email, each with individual credentials and roles (guest, manager, admin).

Enhanced Organization Privacy Options

  • Administrators can now optionally enable or disable public access to the Organization's weather data and dashboards.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • For Most Users: You will log in using your email address instead of a shared account ID.
  • For Administrators: You must add each user to your Organization by entering their email address.
  • If you’re the only user, simply add your own email to continue as before.
